Reg Barclay is a holo-addict.
Except that this story is so much more: it has a genuine, human Reg, who isn't weak and isn't a freak, yes, he tells himself this everyday (but doesn't believe it), and an actual professional performance from Counsellor Troi. You remember Counsellor Troi. The woman who probably did more on a ship full of specialists and normal people than simply say, "I sense anger, Captain," whenever they were fired upon.
Ventura33 paints a wonderful picture of the efforts of the UFP to deal with diversity, to empower people and to bring out the best in everyone... and still, there are people like Reg, who simply have to learn that their body language, their speech, everyothing they think of as 'normal' is not. So what do you do when you have to discount everything your body and mind are telling you?
