See, I never doubted for a second that Sloane told Dr. Barnett with the sole aim of making sure that the information eventually got to Jack and Sydney. He was already doubtful of his ability to find Nadia on his own and realizing that Jack and Sydney would have to be a part of it sooner, rather than later. Confessing to Dr. Barnett made sure that, eventually, they'd learn the facts without him having to break it to them personally -- and apparently didn't hurt him in the seduction department, either. I'm voting for "master plan."
