The lights went off when i was on the tube and i thought it was weird and i got to work ok but now i am here and everything is shut down and we are on high security alert and the phone networks are down and i can't get through to anyone and i am really really scared because i am stranded in fucking oxford circus and i can't get through to anyone.

My firm isn't letting anyone leave. I don't know if that's good or bad. But I'm here. I'm drinking tea. And I haven't cried yet. So it's all good. The army is out there, the entirety of the police force, everyone is out there making the streets safe. and it's going to be okay.

*hugs you* thank god. i logged on to livejournal and your post was the first i saw, and it was - i just - reports are coming in from all my friends and everyone i know is fine, but they are defusing a bomb in holborn and brighton and swindon are shut down and i am so fucking angry, you know? *seethe* it's like - we get one good thing out of how many, i don't know, and, and, then this follows.

i want to go give blood. and i can't leave the building. and my blood is poorly and they won't take it anyway. i feel so impotent. i want to go and help. i want to hide under my desk. i want to find people i know and hug them. *hugs you*

Thank you honey. One day later, the transport system is almost back to normal, and everyone is back at work. London goes on.

If anyone overseas wants to help in any way, I'd point them towards theGlobal Campaign Against Poverty and fairtrade. Thankfully, the emergency services proved themselves heroes and local people have all been donating blood. The best help is to support the long-term campaign against poverty and other causes of extremist violence.

I know, I know, it's bad. That's the worst thing, coming home today, and all the newspapers were still covered in headlines and picture of celebration. *shivers*

I emptied my bag out when I got home yesterday. Two papers covering the Olympics, and one (the Evening Standard) with pictures of carnage. It was eerie.

But we'll all get through this. London is strong. We will get over this.

Everyone is back at work this morning. I am practically glowing with pride to be a Londoner today. *hugs you*
