House 2.18 - 2.19
28 Apr 2006 03:05 pmYeah, I'm watching these out of order. Sue me.
This one really got to me. There's something I find vaguely disturbing about House: the show seems to go out of its way to show just how shit people are to each other. House's assumptions about the worst in people have thus far all been shown to be true* and there doesn't appear to be any let up. The sweet and loving lesbian couple both turn out to be bitches - I can't decide which one is the worst, actually, Hannah or Max. They're as bad as each other, and keeping the guilt going for both of them is a just punishment. But I did feel sorry for Cameron and having to deal with them - even more so after she had that unbelievable talk with Foreman. "We're colleagues", my arse. They've been working together for 2 years, they spend practically 24 hours a day together, and they're not friends? I feel sorry for him, if he can devote that much time from his life doing things he doesn't believe in with people he doesn't care about. Why is he around again?
Chase continues to be generally ineffectual.
House! House needs a good smack. I really enjoyed his "you're a bitch" bit, though, and the plague? Yay! Yay for the black plague! *grin*
Erm, yeah, I liked this episode for the medical bits, and found it somewhat upsetting for the Foreman/Cameron bits. If House thinks that ignoring his team's squabbles is the best way, there's gonna be a serious wake-up call soon.
* I say this as a casual viewer. Doubtless I'm wrong, with 4 instances of not, but I'm taking that as the exception that proves the rule.
House v. God!! Yay! I really liked this episode, both because of the fall-out from the Cameron v. Foreman spat, because of the faith-healer, the red herring (or was that 'murder weapon'?) of the cancer girl's recovery, and Wilson! And, also, Chase, who sucked a whole lot less with his House v. God points. Not really a whole lot to say about this episode, other than it abounded with slashiness, and then it had that messy 'ethics' bit with Wilson sleeping with his patient - er, since when is House interested in ethics, anyway? Could it be he's just jealous? Yep, that's right. The poker game was hilarious, and Foreman and Cameron's talk about the afterlife? Rocked beyond all rocking.
Damnit, I need a House icon! Or at least a 'miscellaneous tv shows' icon, wherein my love of random tat can come across.
