In non-health related queries, is S5 of Alias any good? I have seen the season opener. I was not impressed, and have failed to watch more. Hmmm. Maybe I should remedy this...

I'm really enjoying S5, and a lot more than I thought I would. I definitely would persevere with it, and that's coming from someone who liked the one that died. For me it has one real weak point in one of the new characters that I just don't get yet (and I'm caught up now at episode 13), but other than that it's all good.

Having seen it all now, I'm dying to know which of the new characters you didn't 'get'! I really liked Rachel, thought Tom was very dull, and Peyton was just annoying. But, yeah, there were some brilliant points in the season.

Ah, it was Tom. And now I can see why he seemed such a waste of space - it was paper thin character development just barely enough to cause a 'meh' when he died. Yep, still the weak point for me.

I've enjoyed S5. I think it's the weakest of the seasons, but there's much to enjoy. Sloane's story, in particular, has been quite strong (with the exception of one badly botched scene), and Amy Acker as Kelly Peyton instantly became one of the show's greatest baddies.

Besides, how can you not want to see the scene in my icon?

Are you thinking of nadia's death here? 'cause that one jarred me quite a bit.

See, I think that Ilyria is the only Amy character that I've actually liked. Fred and Peyton I found more annoying than anything else, and her turn on SPN was just unbearably maudlin. I did, however, absolutely adore Rachel, and the Rachel/Peyton bits were fascinating for me, despite my Peyton dislike.
