my very scary exam is tomorrow. going to bed. yep, slightly freaked. this is the biggie, the hard one, the one with the scary calculations and earnings-per-share and dividend-yield-ratios and deferred-taxation-tables with scary dongles stuck on the end.
*clutches index cards to chest*
also, I tried writing a S5-finale-compliant Sloane fic, and it was dire. It was so dire I'm not posting it here. See, even my Sloane voice refuses to cooperate with those final character assassination moments! Someone fax JJ a clue, stat.

RE: Irina - I have absolutely no explanation for her actions. At all.
See, I can accept that Irina seemed to have been thoroughly screwed over by the writers and that she's the one most hard-done by. But, as you said, Sloane had some lovely character-defining moments in the first half of the season, so to have them all wasted like that right at the very end was a crushing blow for me.
Also, back to irina, I can't even begin to describe the extent of my fury at what they did to her.
Even then, I could believe in a Sloane who -- having earned the forgiveness and the daughter he'd fought so hard for -- was thus rendered defenseless against his old longings and ambitions.
I'm working on a theory that Rambaldi is a meme, or something: everyone who has come into contact with him is entranced and obsessed. Like a virus, almost. Sloane was kept from R. as long as he had people actively holding him back, but the moment he let his guard down, R. snuck back in.
It may sound silly, but it works in my head. :)
