This lunchtime, I headed to my local library thinking, "what I'd really like is a book on the Virginia colonies - something that has a whole lot on social history, so I can use it for the 1602/Angelverse xover - but isn't 'popular history' as I've studied this period before. Also, a graphic novel would be good, something like 'Black Hole', which I've been wanting to read for ages."

I went in, and within five minutes found the newly-acquired 'Black Hole', and a book entitled 'The Virginia Adventure: Roanoke to James Towne', which has a hefty slice of social history and is aimed at grad students.

The day before yesterday, I was filled with a yen for Ennis. I went in, and 'war Stories' practically leapt off the shelf, yelling for my attention. "Gosh," I thought, "that's bloody convenient. Now, if only I could find a book similar to this 2003 science fiction short stories anthologies book I've just returned -", and, lo and behold, the librarian reached past me to put '2002 science fiction short stories' on the shelf in front of me.

Psychic. I'm telling you. Psychic.
