Fic recs (HP and Scrubs)

Close Enough by Helen
The war had given them all new and unexpected skills: Neville had learned how to break a man’s arm in three places, and Draco had learned kindness, and Ron, himself, had learned not to take unconsidered action. Almost.
I'm not generally a Ron/Harry fan, butagain, exception=rule. This is slow and beautiful and it's no wonder every bugger's falling over themselves to rec it.
While you're in Helen's general vicinity, though, take a look at
Third Time's the Charm by Helen
After a year of unexpected and ugly deaths, Muggle and otherwise, the reinstatement of the Hogsmeade curfew, and a good deal of unsettling intelligence, it had been obvious that no one would much notice Dumbledore rehiring a slightly battered werewolf.
"Especially," Severus had said, "as he can be more or less trusted not to make a total cockup of it all."
I like my Lupin/Snape stories long and twisty. This one resembles a pretzel and has the bonus of Draco/Ron, which rocks my world.
unsticking the shadow by pogrebin
Hermione knows they're doomed. Oh my god this is beautiful.
A Year Like None Other by Aspen in the Sunlight
A letter from home sends Harry down a path he'd never have walked on his own. Follows Order of the Phoenix. Rated R for violence, disturbing imagery, and profanity.
Drop whatever it is you're doing and go read this now. This doesn't just follow OotP, this writes an entirely believable, wonderfully-plotted sixth book. It centres around Snape and Harry, although it's probably not slash (though at this point, I wouldn't know). The only downside is that it's still a WIP, but Aspen updates regularly so stick it in your favourites and check back often. It's like having your very own book 6, complete with extra squishy violence. Mmmmm.
My Big Breakup by Sabine101
You can never have too much of a good thing, and Scrubs slash should, in theory, be a good thing. Unfortunately, the vast majority of it is poorly written and a weak excuse for porn. Exception=rule. This is lovely, gentle and, as Sabine says, very satisfying. Go read it now.
