Today was nice. It was sunny, for one thing. I was beginning to think that we'd all drown.
I finished off I, Claudius, which was brilliant (review forthcoming), bought some uber-cheap graphic novels at my local library, and hung out with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
queenspanky. We watched The Prestige, which was very good, if rather soulless, and also sat in the garden for 0.3 seconds. Me being of good, solid Mediterranean stock (well, near the Caucuses, anyway), I immediately turned bright pink. Erm, wtf? Seems that my mother's blonde-and-grey-eyed Slavic genes are responsible for me looking like a lobster.
She, btw, found this highly amusing. Meanwhile, my father's ancestors have evidently been shamed, etc, and I must go on a ship immediately to prove that I am hardy and strong and not the least bit dainty. I pointed out that my seasickness would prevent this. The *facepalm* this provoked could be heard for miles around. To be fair, I was ridiculously blonde as a child, so pinkness in the face of midday sun is probably not such a strange thing.
Also, Harry Potter 5 in about 4 days. When did this happen?? Being so busy under exams & work evidently has some advantages; you blink and new books and movies are delivered on your doorstep.
