Dear yuletide writer,

I am temporarily without internets, due to phone-line shenanigans. So I am writing this letter before said internets disappear.

I have been very ambitious in my requests this year, because if I don't ask for tiny, non-existent fandoms, they'll never be created from scratch just for me. :) Don't worry, though, that just means that the mere existence of fic, in any way, shape or form, is guaranteed to make me ludicrously happy! (See? No pressure. *g*)


1. Fandom: Transmetropolitan
Characters: Spider Jerusalem, The Beast
Request: Something from Spider's early attacks on The Beast, please. Extra bonus points if you can work Royce in there as well.

OK. I love Transmet with the fire of a thousand million suns, and will never get tired of requesting it for yuletide. There is no way that I will ever get tired of reading Spider's vitriolic rants against the shittiness of the world. And we never did see that much of The Beast, and Spider's hijinks there. That said - I also love the Filthy Assistants. And Royce. So, really, anything that has Spider doing stuff? Will make me happy.

2. Fandom: David Feintuch - Seafort Saga
Characters: Edgar Tolliver/Nicholas Seafort
Request: I'd be happy with any slash, although something set during Prisoner's Hope or Fisherman's Hope would make me extra happy.

I suspect that no fic at all exists for this fandom. So anything will make me happy. I love Edgar Tolliver's snarkiness, and how he doesn't let Nick's rightousness kill them with its sheer earnestness. Plus, it's a Navy-in-space series with spiffy uniforms and flogging. Should you feel the need to indulge in WowWrongBadHot, I'm not gonna stop you. :)

3. Fandom: Deadwood
Characters: Al Swearengen, Jewel
Request: Some background on Al's relationship with Jewel would be fab.

Again, anything around either Al or Jewel (or Al&Jewel) would be smashing. I always found Al's kindness towards Jewel fascinating, and her fearless is great. She *knows*, she is *certain* that he'd never hurt her which, given what kind of man Al is, is nothing short of extraordinary.

4. Fandom: State of Play
Characters: Cal McCaffrey/Stephen Collins
Request: Cal and Stephen after or during the events of 'State of Play'. If you can work Anne in there, so much the better. Slash preferred, although gen is always welcome.

Pretty much what it says in the request. I was intrigued by the 'thrown together' relationship that Cal and Stephen have in the first two episodes, hiding out from the media and watching Stephen's marriage fall apart. And there was something vaguely OT3-ish about Stephen's confrontation with Cal and Anne later on, which I found fascinating. But, really, anything dealing with the complex relationship of these two would be fab.

Mainly, I just wanted to say THANK YOU for writing for yuletide, this is my favourite ficathon, and having any fic in any of the above fandoms would make me deliriously happy.

Cal/Stephen! So I'm not the only one who saw it. (And thought for a second that in the scene where Stephen insists to Cal that he usually isn't a man who cheats on his wife and that Cal knows this, he'd continue "...because remember when you and I had a moment and backed off from temptation?")

*g* Which just makes the scene where Cal's all "stare moodily into space/out the window" and Stephen's all "get into Cal's personal space" and Anne's all "post-coital and yet still angsty, and watching both of them shoot sparks off each other" makes me want to write the threesome scene that MUST have followed.

Although this could be because I love Polly Walker too much to not have her participate. :)

(You know what? We should start our own State of Play fandom. Nothing big, but maybe one of those 'claim 10 prompts' things. Yes. And then you'll write the fic. And I'll read the fic. In an equitable division of labour.)
