No, of course the UK cannot be trusted to govern itself, it should be absorbed into the US and guns should be made legal and the death penalty should be brought back and OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!!!!!

I've had a run-in with that guy too, over the exact same issue - gun laws. Apparently, we Brits/Canadians are too brainwashed to know what's good for us. I've decided that the best course of action is to ignore him :S

I just got what I expect passes for an apology from him - apparently, he wasn't trying to single me out to 'blame' (for what, he didn't specify. I expect to receive an email informing me of my culpability for everything from genocidal rape to global warming).

I think I am going to follow your course of action and ignore him.
