Random interest of the week
28 Apr 2005 08:46 pmBrowing through my friends' interest pages, I discovered an interest in 'Pausanias'. People won't know this, but Pausanias was my very first OMC bad guy. There was a legend that he became a ghost, unless I'm much mistaken, but I stole that and made him into a vampire. Who ran a successful city firm that had offices overlooking High Holborn. And was very exasperated with the BT number changes taking place at the time, whilst ending the world (of course).
Anyway. It was back when I wrote endless sprawling WIP that I have not, to date, finished, but have a blow-by-blow (so to speak) summary stashed away on a floppy somewhere. It made me all glowy inside. Now why is it that I don't write long fic anymore? Everything I write struggles to push past the magic six page barrier (Book Antiqua, font 10).
In other news,
athena25 will probably finish typing up some stories in the Albion saga soon and then a joint archive (or, well, list) of our works will go online for easy reference. May I take this opportunity to prior-rec her fabulous look at Isolde Albion and her sadistic obsessive fucked up dear lord? They make the Malfoys look normal. Yes, I'm biased, but I really do love this slice of (fucked up) life and this is by far the best Albion fic she's written as yet. It's dark, sadistic, desperate and full of love. A dark, sadistic, desperate love, but love nonetheless. It's also incredibly sensual.
I'm also going to do some
ithurtsmybrain fic. Probably around:
135. Delenn / Nightcrawler / Grima ('cause that could be all kinds of wrong)
150. Alexander Dane / Spider Jerusalem / Elric
165. Bigby Wolf / Jubilee / Jack Sparrow (yes, yes, a hundred times yes)
184. Spike / Sam Seaborn
192. Remus Lupin / Faith (because I need to write some het kink)
222. Daniel Jackson / Luna Lovegood
383. CJ Cregg / Stephen Maturin
461. Vir Cotto / Dawn Summers
The Spike/Sam and Daniel/Luna ones would be the easiest, I think, although I really do want to do something with Vir and Dawn. It's not an exclusive list (i.e. people don't pick one pairing and then no one else can write it) they just write what they want, so head on over to
ithurtsmybrain and have your eyeballs scoured with brillo. You'll hate love yourself for it.
Tomorrow is Timetable Planning of Doom. Four exams over three weeks in June. It's doable, right? Mmmm, academic!pain.

Although I do feel that post-'The Gift' revisionist history might work out well, despite the complete lack of dawn-voice in my writing repertoire.
