Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] queenspanky and [livejournal.com profile] mizzykitty for their invaluable assistance; if it makes any sense, it is entirely up to their efforts.

Read it here.

What a neat, wicked idea! I very much like this - the technician's cold approval, Jim's despising his brother's weakness, the engrams not taking, so that he might have new memories, but he doesn't blindly accept them.

I love the intersection of Federation and Federation. I love Jim's role in the fall of Kodos, that Kodos falls because he listened to Blake - and how this is the turning point, when the rule of law becomes law by those who rule, and an Empire claws its way to life.

Wonderfully wicked!

Interesting concatenation of the two.
Though who is the gaunt black haired man?

Avon, I presumed... though he's really brown.

Ah Avon has brown hair though and hardly "gaunt" at the end.

An effect of the taxidermy/ embalming process? the hair as well as the gaunt features. :¬)
Oh well definitely not "living fast, dying young and leaving a beautiful corpse!"
Mummy Avons!

You're brilliant, and so is this story. The B7 Federation as the dark mirror of the ST one has been talked about so often, and yet I've never made the connection to the Mirrorverse. Mirror!Kirk as one of the children who got fake memories so Blake could be framed at his trial! Kodos!

*is in awe*

What an awesome idea. I hadn't concieved of mirror!TOS/B7 together, and you've made me wonder why it wasn't obvious since you pulled it off so brilliantly.

The play is SO SLASHY!!! Those two stroking each other's faces and dancing campily on stage made me explode with squee!

Sounds good! Hurray for sushi! =D And if you wish to bring ST books for lending, I would most certainly not object. *grin*

I've never read any ST books, so I will be happy to take suggestions! I am particularly interested in reading Spock's World, but that's only if you have it of course. And yes, Price of Phoenix does sound awesome!

I have S1 and 2. I'm working my way through the episodes, albeit somewhat slowly. I'm 2/3 through S1 at the mo. I've watched Amok Time and Journey to Babel as fic research, but otherwise I've tried to watch them in order. As for the films, I've seen 2-4. I've got the box set though, so I've just got to get around to seeing 1, 5, and 6!

I would watch them faster but for instance tonight we have to watch MI III because hubby wants to. *exasperated sigh* It's JJ Abrams though, so it's not too bad. But I would have preferred to be watching ST. heh.

As I don't know Blakes 7 at all, I must admit this fic made little sense to me in the way of plot... but I was fascinated by it, nonetheless. Seeing the Mirror Universe through the eyes of a young Kirk was very effective and genuinely unsettling. Also, the way you switch scenes, which always keeps the reader just a bit off-balance, adds tremendously to the general feel of the story.

I don't know TOS at all, so I'm sure I'm missing some of the nuances, but what a wonderful idea, beautifully realised!
