Hello amazing person!

Thank you, Yuletide writer, for signing up and for writing for one of the fandoms below. I tend to pick super-obscure fandoms, so you can rest easy knowing that the existence of fic AT ALL in any of the below would make me insanely happy. But a vague disclaimer is no-one's friend, so I have waffled at length on what would make me go into paroxysms of delight.

Firstly, gen. I read, write and enjoy slash, femslash and het, but if a pairing isn't working for you, don't worry about trying to crowbar them together, I love gen most of all. This year was a bit strange in that I picked specific relationships for most fandoms and specific slash, femslash etc, but I'm the Victorian maiden of fanfic, and strong words across the room are just as fabulous as a steamy sex scene.

Secondly, squicks. The following are my non-fandom-specific squicks -
1. Chan, shota, underage, however you term it. I have trouble with anything below the age of consent (16 where I live);
2. Non-con, rape. I sometimes read it, but it's rare, and I normally find it very difficult to read.
3. Character-bashing.
4. The common sex-based squicks - chan as mentioned, also scat, watersports, snuff, etc.

And that's it!

The stuff I love regardless of fandom:
1. Plot! The plottier the better.
2. Awesome female characters.
3. Something upbeat - not necessarily a happy ending (in some cases it's just not gonna happen!) but some glimmer of light.
4. In-character dialogue. You could seriously just have two people snarking at each other for 1,000 words and I would wet my pants with excitement.
 
On to the fandoms! This year, I requested -

1. 18th-19th Century CE Political RPF: Marie Antoinette, F/F.

The truth behind the rumours between Marie Antoinette and and the Princesse de Lamballe.

Ah, let's start with the problematic one! *g* I'd also nominated Maria Luisa of Savoy, Princesse de Lamballe, intending to ask for F/F, but a technical glitch moved Maria Luisa out of the fandom category. I've therefore set out the details of my ideal story below, but I appreciate that you may not have chosen the Princesse de Lamballe if given the option, so please don't feel compelled to write it if it doesn't work for you.

That said... *deep breath* I have a serious thing for Marie Antoinette/Princesse de Lamballe, especially given the latter's gruesome death was at least patrtly due to the rumours flying around about her supposed lesbian relationship with the Queen. Rumours, my arse, I want to win these two awesome women back! Anything about their relationship, either femslashy or just as good friends trying to negotiate the vagaries of Versailles would make me ridiculously happy.

The gen option: if you're not familiar with/a fan of the Princesse de Lamballe, anything about Marie Antoinette's first few years at Versailles would be fabulous. I have a particular weakness for the young and vulnerable Marie Antoinette, freshly-made the Dauphine and unsure of herself.


2. Seafort Saga - David Feintuch: Nicholas Seafort, Edgar Tolliver, First Time, M/M.

The voyage back from Hope Nation, on board the Victoria.

I guess this is where I ask for the sex? :) I love this series, and just how repressed Nicholas is. I think the closest he comes to having a relationship of equals is with Tolliver, after the heli scenario and their understanding that they're stuck with each other. By the time of Fisherman's Hope we see them comfortable with each other's presence in a way they just hadn't been previously when on Hope Nation. I figured the change happened en route to Earth aboard the Victoria, and it would be awesome to actually see that. Nick paints himself as someone so straight-lanced, and yet that entire society is built upon the old idea of Victorian values, including corporal punishment in a way that is almost explicitly sexual. (Bending someone over a barrel for lashes? Really?) Nick wants absolution, but in his world, that can only be gained by being beaten.

In short, if you can have Edgar offer Nick some 'absolution' through the medium of barrels, canes and Navy uniforms, I'll stop trying to make this sound like anything other than all my kinks in one place. :)

Gen option: um, anything in keeping with Edgar's snarky tone in the books would make me really, really happy. He's my favourite characters by far, and having him argue with Nick for whatever reason (and win!) would be ace.

3. 17th Century CE RPF: Elisabeth Charlotte von der Pfalz

Liselotte at court, either freshly married or already well-established and on good terms with Louis XIV. Anything with politics or dealing with Monsieur would be especially welcome!

Elisabeth Charlotte, aka LIselotte, has to be one of the most fabulous characters in history, and I am astonished that there aren't any films about her. She ended up married to a gay man she didn't get on with, in a country she thought was ridiculous, and spent all her time riding and dressing like a man. So, basically, anything with her being awesome would make me squeak with glee. Particular love for seeing her household, if possible - dealing Monsieur and his favourites, or spending time with the King, or even any affairs she may have had. Go wild!


4. Breakfast Club (1985): Richard Vernon, John Bender

Maybe those future detentions Bender has to sit with Vernon or, if you're feeling brave, having Bender's homelife come out in one way or another that forces Vernon to deal with it in some capacity. I'd be pretty happy with anything you do here, to be honest! The only thing likely to squick me is up-and-up non-con, but other than that, go wild.

I actually thought long and hard about this particular request, and I nearly look it out a couple of times. I haven't seen this anywhere and I'm hesitant to ask for it because I'm not sure if I can articulate what it is I'm looking for, but let me give it a go. Having said that I love all the characters in these fandoms, I want to smack Richard Vernon so incredibly hard for his behaviour. It's not even the fact that he seems to have it in for Bender but, rather, that Bender seems to be relatively outspoken regarding his homelife (in terms of using it to make a point or in anger, at any rate) and I can't believe that Vernon - who seems to spend an awful lot of time with Bender one on one - does't know about it, and hasn't done anything about it. Also, I find Vernon's almost-obsession with Bender - who is, after all, a student in his care - somewhat disturbing, and not just in a 'mean teacher' sort of way.

Anything where Vernon is basically foced to confront, deal with or otherwise acknowledge 1) Bender's homelife, and 2) his own responsibility as an adult charged with Bender's care, would make me happy. I don't really mind where you take it after that point - you can have him choose to do nothing, you can have him try to do something and fail, you can have Bender tell him to mind his own business, you can set it decades later and have him find out and not be able to do anything, you can even go the obsession route and make his interest in Bender unhealthy and semi-sexual. I'd be pretty happy with anything exploring that knotty relationship, however you do it. I already flagged up the "no non-con" above, and I think probably "no coercion or dub-con" with this particular pairing as well, please.

As always, OPTIONAL details are OPTIONAL, so please don't despair if you read the above and thought "what is she on about, this woman is insane", I am sure to love whatever fic you end up writing.
