kangeikoHello dear writer! Thank you so much for writing for me. This is my first time participating in smutswap and I am slightly nervous over whether I have done this right. Hopefully I have and my sign-up (and the letter below) will give you lots of delicious ideas for fic. I picked pairings that I can never get enough of, so frankly you are making my day by writing smut for any of them, so there's that. I've also tried to flag up as many different tags as I had ideas for to indicate the, ahem, breadth and depth of my interest in these pairings. Basically, barring the stuff in my DNWs, I'm pretty much guaranteed to love it.
I can't figure out whether I'm supposed to list my general fic likes as well as the smutty ones? I'll assume just the smutty ones. If you're wondering about plot/character likes/dislikes, I've been pretty consistent through time and fandoms and yuletide and chocolatebox dear author letters are a useful summary of what I like. I figured I'd use the space here to talk about smutty likes instead!
General likes: as you can tell from the pairings I picked, "Enemies/Antagonists to Lovers" is a real bulletproof kink of mine. So there we are, just by writing this pairing you're making me happy! Whether you make it consensual or dub-conny, I'm just happy it's happening at all. I also love first times, reluctantly drawn together, sex pollen and mutually-dosed aphrodisiacs pushing them into revealing an existing attraction, forced to rely on each other, aliens made them do it, and every other 'forced into sex through circumstances' trope you can imagine. I'll also definitely have a favourite character I'd like to see turned into a complete mess through overstimulation, being incredibly into it, excessive orgasms, telepathy, whatever you come up with. Also... the characters I've picked tend to have a really poor relationship. They've sinned against each other. There's a lot to unpick. Make one of them look after the other (either emotionally, physically or sexually) and I will be the happiest person on earth. I love hand kinks, glove kinks, uniform kinks, kissing and biting the neck, leaving marks, leaving evidence that something has taken place. And yes, yes I do like a large cock and a first time resulting in slow, careful (and then desperate, not careful) sex.
DNWs: Rather than trying to second-guess every single tag I've tried to be thematic about this and I trust that the broad categories will make sense. Please no permanent harm (this includes anything which can be ‘magically’ fixed - if it’s something that would damage a non-magical human permanently, please avoid it), permanent injury or bodily modification, mpreg, character death (if someone is canonically dead you can include that but I’m also happy with them being handwaved back to life or “everyone is alive in this because of magic pixie dust” or whatever - I’m all for happy endings, or at least slightly less depressing ones!), role play (including age play), non-sexual bodily fluids/wastes, underage, vore/cannibalism/bestiality (including animagus)/extreme penetrations etc. If going down the BDSM route, simplicity is fine, but please avoid elaborate props. I could write an essay on everything I love about these two. There’s so much to play with! I’d be happy with anything set S2-5 (i.e. after Bester is a semi-known quantity and already an antagonist). Things I’d love to see with this ship -
1) Garibaldi using his greater height/weight against Bester to hold him down bodily, or shoving Bester up on his tip-toes as he fucks him. If you have this in S5 then literally anything Garibaldi does could be construed as Bester 'wanting it' by the Asimov not triggering, so feel free to roughhouse as much as you like with that understanding in place (or even played with). Bester holds most of the cards in this relationship so I'm pretty OK with whatever you come up here.
2) Bester having to restrain himself from lashing out at Garibaldi telepathically as he’s fucked for the first time. How strong is he? Does Garibaldi know how close he is to having his mind squished like a grape? Does Bester end up projecting to any telepath on the station? Having Bester restrain himself so he doesn't accidentally hurt Garibaldi is delicious (especially given their history). Having a careless Garibaldi and a careful Bester together works incredibly well.
3) Glove and hand kink - Bester jerking Garibaldi (or himself) off with his gloves still on. This could be at any time during the show's run but if you feel brave and want to do S4, having Garibaldi be trapped in his head and terrified and still want Bester who obliges by jerking himself off for Garibaldi's into-it-yet-is-still-horrified benefit would be interesting.
4) Dub/non con of the “aliens made them do it” or “sex pollen” variety, set either before or after S4’s mind control. Maybe they both get dosed in S5? (If going down this route, please make it as mutual as possible and building on an existing attraction, even if neither would have ever planned to act on it) Maybe the Dust smuggler in S3 flung some sex pollen over them to make his escape? I’d also be happy if Bester is the only one affected and Garibaldi is in control and is either taking advantage of the situation to extract revenge in the only way open to him, or figures that he'd better step up before Bester grabs the nearest passing warm body. Just please no mind whammying Garibaldi alone - mutual whammying or dosing Bester only is totally fine. (The key thing for me here is to not have Garibaldi back under Bester's control - if you choose to dose only Garibaldi, please make Bester somehow obliged/wanting/compelled to look after him.)
5) First times - for them together, but also for Bester (in particular) with a man and/or on the bottom, and Garibaldi isn’t... small. Having to slow down because it really is too big to fit, or Bester is overstimulated, or he’s just sore and it’s all a bit much - asjdhgKHDl YES GOOD. I'm totally OK with Garibaldi being surprisingly considerate and taking things slow, OR him being completely "you'll take it and you'll like it" (and then of course he does), depending on which season you choose to set this in.
6) Garibaldi leaving bruises and marks on Bester (especially if seen by others - on his neck?), Bester being too out of it to protest the marks, Garibaldi taking a LOT of pleasure in knowing that it would be obvious Bester’s been fucked by him. What would happen if one of the command staff see them? (If it's S5, would Sheridan threaten to throw him in the brig for assault until Garibaldi red-facedly admits that it was mutual and his terrible decisions are really not the issue here and can they please forget all about it? If it's S3 would Ivanova want to kill Bester? Garibaldi? Both of them?)
7) Vulnerability and h/c - yes, Bester may have turned Garibaldi’s mind inside out, but that doesn’t mean that any rando off the street is allowed to mess with Garibaldi. Similarly, Bester is Garibaldi’s to kill, no one else’s. (aka enemies to enemies-with-benefits.) Plus fucking. This is basically id-fic for me? Somehow Bester is compelled to look after Garibaldi, OR vice versa, or both, and it's terrible for all concerned, but they can't stop. Maybe Bester is back on the station and Garibaldi is drunk and Bester is pissed because he hadn't foreseen that eventuality and he's having none of it, and Garibaldi has had enough of Bester in his head even if it's Bester ripping out his slip back into alcoholism by the root. Maybe the S3 Dust smuggler realises that Bester is on sleepers and decides that he can fetch a REALLY good price for genuine psi cop P12 blood/DNA and decides to kidnap him and sell him off-world, and Garibaldi has to rescue him and deal with the fact that, yup, actually, some of Bester's animosity towards normals may be borne out of experience. Maybe S2 Bester is helping them with an investigation and it's so horrible and wretched that he does the scan instead of Talia and he really, really needs a drink afterwards but of course he can't because he's on a station full of normals, and Garibaldi checks in on him. Whatever you like, just make them... less hostile. :)
8) Garibaldi in control, Bester either willingly giving up control (even if it’s artificial) or drugged into it. OR... OK, look, S5 Garibaldi would be the safest pair of hands for someone wanting to try to push their own limits. Maybe Garibaldi realises this and offers, and Bester is all "... why would you even?" and Garibaldi is basically "because I can hurt you" except it's with permission, so they both get what they want out of it. I don't even know how to frame this other than mutually consensual non-consent (play)? Or Garibaldi straight-up holding the reins while a drugged or out of his mind Bester falls to pieces, whatever works for you!
Things I love: Bester’s gloves, his snarkiness, size difference and size kink. Give me an encounter that has more even power dynamics - either artificially levelled through dosing them both somehow, or setting it before S4, or having some other trigger remove the imbalance - and allows them conflict within the encounter. OR give Garibaldi (almost) all the power in the encounter. I live for angry hate!sex that turns out to not be quite as simple as hate!sex would suggest. Bester helpless and undone - maybe telepaths are touch-starved, maybe it’s agonising holding back all of his power so he doesn’t squash Garibaldi’s mind like a bug, maybe he’s just drugged - is just the most delicious image. Garibaldi holding him down by his wrists and/or biting his neck would be wonderful. Garibaldi holding him down while fucking him is even more appealing. Overstimulation, first times and being overwhelmed is doubleplusgood. All of which is basically an elaborate way of saying “please make Michael hold him down and beg for it, thank you.” The details are entirely up to you! There is so little written for this pairing that honestly if you decide to ignore all of the above prompts and just write them as frotting for half a page I’d still be happy.

3) Any variation on Avon being pushed past his limits physically - the stretch is too great, the sex is too fast, he’s overstimulated, etc. (But not past hard limits re: kinks, please - nothing that would make anyone in a similar situation safeword out.) Maybe it really IS too big? Maybe he agreed on just the tip & it rapidly progresses beyond that and although he's consented he's not entirely sure he can handle it? I’m predictable and I’m not sorry. Um... please give me hate!sex? Or not!hate!sex? I was shipping these before Book 5 came out, and then Book 5 came out and... well. I was a little disappointed at how little interaction we got, and how limited that was. Anything you can do to flesh that out would be amazing. I’m also happy with post book 7 “everyone lives” as a setting. If you’re going with their school years, please no underage (i.e. please put them in 7th year after they turn eighteen). Please also no animagus bestiality.
1) I have about eighty-four different prompts which are a variety of “sex pollen/aliens made them do it”. Maybe sex magic requires it? Maybe they’re dosed with a lust potion? Maybe a Death eater spell goes astray? The world’s your oyster. Please make the world make them bone. You could take it in any direction you wanted! Maybe they grit their teeth and do it (oh no, it was for Duty but it turned out to be Very Good and now they want to do it AGAIN). Maybe they snark at each other through it but acknowledge that actually sex is a good thing so make the most of it. Maybe Snape is frightened of Black intentionally hurting him, but steels himself for it and is surprised by Black being rather considerate of him. Maybe Snape is braced to hate it and is totally into it and a mess? (Yes, you can tell Snape is my favourite, I will always for my favourite to be made a complete mess, I'm not even a little sorry.)
2) I love Snape on the bottom. That’s not to say that he loves being on the bottom. Reluctantly bottoming/first time bottoming/really not sure if he trusts Black with his arse would all make me happy. Having Sirius step up and fuck him into incoherence would be amazing. Maybe Black doesn't realise it's Snape's first time (or at least first time on the bottom) and he realises later? But seriously, exhaustion, Snape dropping off during the sex but being required to continue (maybe it’s a time-sensitive ritual?) and Black has to be extra-careful because he’s so bruised, waking up still locked together, Snape giving blanket permission to continue even if he’s passed out, whatever you fancy. (If going down this route, please make it as mutual as possible and building on an existing attraction, even if neither would have ever planned to act on it) Maybe the Dust smuggler in S3 flung some sex pollen over them to make his escape? I’d also be happy if Bester is the only one affected and Garibaldi is in control and is either taking advantage of the situation to extract revenge in the only way open to him, or figures that he'd better step up before Bester grabs the nearest passing warm body. 7) Vulnerability and h/c - yes, Bester may have turned Garibaldi’s mind inside out, but that doesn’t mean that any rando off the street is allowed to mess with Garibaldi. Similarly, Bester is Garibaldi’s to kill, no one else’s. (aka enemies to enemies-with-benefits.) Plus fucking. This is basically id-fic for me? Somehow Bester is compelled to look after Garibaldi, OR vice versa, or both, and it's terrible for all concerned, but they can't stop. Maybe Bester is back on the station and Garibaldi is drunk and Bester is pissed because he hadn't foreseen that eventuality and he's having none of it, and Garibaldi has had enough of Bester in his head even if it's Bester ripping out his slip back into alcoholism by the root. Maybe the S3 Dust smuggler realises that Bester is on sleepers and decides that he can fetch a REALLY good price for genuine psi cop P12 blood/DNA and decides to kidnap him and sell him off-world, and Garibaldi has to rescue him and deal with the fact that, yup, actually, some of Bester's animosity towards normals may be borne out of experience. Maybe S2 Bester is helping them with an investigation and it's so horrible and wretched that he does the scan instead of Talia and he really, really needs a drink afterwards but of course he can't because he's on a station full of normals, and Garibaldi checks in on him. Whatever you like, just make them... less hostile. :)
8) Garibaldi in control, Bester either willingly giving up control (even if it’s artificial) or drugged into it. OR... OK, look, S5 Garibaldi would be the safest pair of hands for someone wanting to try to push their own limits. Maybe Garibaldi realises this and offers, and Bester is all "... why would you even?" and Garibaldi is basically "because I can hurt you" except it's with permission, so they both get what they want out of it. I don't even know how to frame this other than mutually consensual non-consent (play)? Or Garibaldi straight-up holding the reins while a drugged or out of his mind Bester falls to pieces, whatever works for you!
Things I love: Bester’s gloves, his snarkiness, size difference and size kink. Give me an encounter that has more even power dynamics - either artificially levelled through dosing them both somehow, or setting it before S4, or having some other trigger remove the imbalance - and allows them conflict within the encounter. 1) I have about eighty-four different prompts which are a variety of “sex pollen/aliens made them do it”. Maybe sex magic requires it? Maybe they’re dosed with a lust potion? Maybe a Death eater spell goes astray? The world’s your oyster. Please make the world make them bone. You could take it in any direction you wanted! Maybe they grit their teeth and do it (oh no, it was for Duty but it turned out to be Very Good and now they want to do it AGAIN). Maybe they snark at each other through it but acknowledge that actually sex is a good thing so make the most of it. Maybe Snape is frightened of Black intentionally hurting him, but steels himself for it and is surprised by Black being rather considerate of him. Maybe Snape is braced to hate it and is totally into it and a mess? (Yes, you can tell Snape is my favourite, I will always for my favourite to be made a complete mess, I'm not even a little sorry.)
2) I love Snape on the bottom. That’s not to say that he loves being on the bottom. Reluctantly bottoming/first time bottoming/really not sure if he trusts Black with his arse would all make me happy. Having Sirius step up and fuck him into incoherence would be amazing. Maybe Black doesn't realise it's Snape's first time (or at least first time on the bottom) and he realises later?
