Yeah.

Um.

So, weeks ago, I sent a "thanks but no thanks" to PwC re: their Edinburgh offer. Too low, and too far away. They followed that with a, "if you ever change your mind..."

So I wrote them a nice letter a few days ago saying that something higher paid in London would tempt me.

They just called with a new offer: £7,500 higher than their previous one & based in London.

I ... will probably accept.

Starting to look for a job is not quite the same as one falling from the sky, but I expect that to happen any time now *g*. Although preferably not until I get back from cat-sitting for my parents next week.

Going on previous experience - with this flat, for example - my guess is that I'll apply for lots and not get them for a while, angst about it in my livejournal, and then just when I am thinking nobody will ever give me a job I will get one that's far better than I expected.

Please remind me I said this when I angst about it *g*.

I think that there is a minimum amount of whining and angsting that has to be done before *anything* gets accomplished by the universe. It's like a great big pot of karma that's just sitting there, and if sit quietly you're never gonna get any of it. But kicking up a fuss through general complaints to the Management Above will mean that things get sorted quicker. Pessimism is very handy in this manner.

It also works for getting service in restaurants.

yes, the heady, heady world of, er, consulting. *giggle* seriously, I am way jazzed about this. not so thrilled about spending another three years at school ('cause, hey, accountancy qualification that i have to take concurrently and they pay for), but, on the other hand, another three years at school! (oh, yeah, and work. actual paid work. mmmmmm.)
