I'm in a masochistic place this very moment. Now, I know that I should simply read the latest updates at Landover Baptist, snigger, and then maybe purchase a "What Would Jesus Do?" thong. However, I clicked on the forbidden mail archives link. *shakes head* Seriously, people, have you not heard of 'parody'? 'Irony'? How about flat-out 'sarcasm'?

I suppose that it's good that this many devoted Christians stand up and say, "hey, you crazy bigots, stop mis-interpreting my religion for your own sick ends" - but it's more scary that so many devoted Christians are evidently too stupid to understand that the entire site is a parody. Seriously, people, it says so, right there in the disclaimer.

Also? Mailing death threats to people you are accusing of fundamentalism doesn't exactly make you look that sane by comparison. Nor is writing an entire essay about the inappropriateness of a 'What Would Jesus Do?' thong as proper devout behaviour. I could attempt to explain the point, but I suspect that any polysyllabic words would confuse them.

Seriously, guys. I remain agog at the utter stupidity displayed by so many people.

I'm trying to decide what's scarier, people who fly ito a rage because they don't notice it's not really a "Christian Websaite" or the few e-mails who think this is real and think they're doing a good job with their hard nosed message 0.o
