Following [livejournal.com profile] yahtzee63's example, I'm rounding up all the fic I owe people, sticking it all in one place and trying to catch up on stuff.

So. If I've yet to hand something over, it's probably because I'm having some trouble with the prompt. If you're happy with what you requested & just wait it out, that's fine, but if you maybe want to renegotiate to something that'll get written quicker (!), that's also great. Thus far, I have the following (tell me if I've missed you out!) -

- [livejournal.com profile] leyenn: (Babylon 5) Marcus finding out about John/Susan, or John/Susan/Talia, or Londo giving John advice on how to deal with a harem.
- [livejournal.com profile] raedbard: (Carnivale) Sofie & anyone else, poker.
- [livejournal.com profile] likeadeuce: (Dexter) Deb/Doakes, fast food.
- [livejournal.com profile] brandy_took: (ST:TOS) Spock/McCoy, snark.
- [livejournal.com profile] bluerosefairy: (Sandman) Destruction/Delirium, wake.
- [livejournal.com profile] leyenn (again - sorry love!): (Xena) Xena/Gabrielle, Joxer.
- [livejournal.com profile] tww_minis: (TWW) Toby with Sam, Will or Ginger, boss/employee relationship, sexual tension & California.

I need to figure out what post-DH fic I want to write before starting to write it. Otherwise I'm going to end up with a giant mess.

I also need to go to bed, due to exam results tomorrow (midnight, ZOMG!! 26 hours to go!!!). Possibly accompanied by the very first HP book.

(I'm also really, really tempted to go back up to Edinburgh for a weekend or something. Or maybe to the Highlands. Somewhere green, and beautiful. Not that I have any money, of course, but... the heat & humidity is killing me. Hmmm.)

Ten million years ago, I promised [livejournal.com profile] queenspanky this fic - A Knight's Tale, Wat/Chaucer, ink on fingers, food, and smut. Erm. *hides*

[livejournal.com profile] 100fandoms #45 'game'

A Pissing Contest, In Parts )

I am being good, you see. I'm slowly - oh my god so slowly - working my way through the ten million fics I promised people. I'm not signed up for any more ficathons or anything, and have a list of what I promised (detailed below), but if you think you should be on the list and aren't, then, um, yell at me and I'll feel guilty and add you. :-)

Fics/Essays Owed -
- Christmas fics: for [livejournal.com profile] luvarvinsloane, Irina&Sloane, Sloane/&Sydney, Sloane/Dr Barnett or Sloane/Emily.
- Idol reflection: Alfred Bester & Arvin Sloane
- [livejournal.com profile] tww_minis Toby fic
- Cherry!fics: [livejournal.com profile] likeadeuce (Dexter), [livejournal.com profile] brandy_took (ST:TOS), [livejournal.com profile] soulstar (Nip/Tuck), [livejournal.com profile] bluerosefairy (Nip/Tuck and Sandman), [livejournal.com profile] trollsttroll (Fast & Furious), [livejournal.com profile] leyenn (Xena).

Hey, that looks a lot better than it did before! (Oh, it looked *awful* before. Don't ask.)

I've learned my lesson, tho - no more offers or signing up to things until I finish these, and I get the next parts of afterdays and the 1602/angel crossover done.

So, for bonus points (but alas, no fic), guess which remix I wrote for [livejournal.com profile] remix_redux. There'll be a virtual cookie in it for ya.

I'm so sick of exam revision I could vomit. I think that after a certain point in an individual's life - say, the age of 25 or so - they begin to greatly resent being made to prep for exams on someone else's schedule. It's what's happening with me, in any case. I'm reaching the point where I just don't see any real reason to continue with it - which is ironic, really, given that this set of exams are for a professional qualification, and are thus the most practical and directly applicable set of exams I've done to date.

I wish that this next fornight would JUST DIE ALREADY.

Plus, I haven't started on my [livejournal.com profile] yuletide fic yet, which is sort of asking for disaster, really, isn't it? But I have two whole days in which writing might happen, so it's just going to have to be done then.

*STARES AT SCHEDULE AND IS FULL OF WOE. WOE!!*

Fandom things I plan on doing over December/January in order to not go crazy from teh real life (tm):

1. [livejournal.com profile] yuletide fic, due 19th Dec. I bought a copy of source, and will rewatch at earliest opportunity.

2. [livejournal.com profile] tww_minis threesome ficathon, due 29th Dec. Because West Wing makes my world better.

3. part 2 of the 1602/angelverse crossover for [livejournal.com profile] selenak, because I want to write it and the pile of research books on my desk just keeps growing.

4. part 2 of 'afterdays', because I need to write it before I forget it.

5. feedback for various people for this meme - add your fic if you'd like some holiday feedback!

6. Rorschach fic for [livejournal.com profile] kakodaimon.

7. Delenn & Franklin (?) fic for [livejournal.com profile] likeadeuce - honey, am I remembering this correctly? I lost the notes I had on it!! *is sucky & sucks*

8. For [livejournal.com profile] luvarvinsloane, for this meme: 5 things Dr. Barnett wishes she said to Arvin Sloane ( before she thinks he uses her IP pass.), 5 things Arvin Sloane would change if he could, 5 things Arvin Sloane has always wanted from Sydney... .

If I've promised you fics and then failed to deliver, tell me so!!! I'm going to have two whole weeks off, and plan to spend them sitting in coffee shops with a notepad and pen.

Right, off to book theatre tickets and then revise some more... *procrastinates like crazy*

In other news, this week's The Economist op ed has at least three logical inconsistencies. Can you spot them all?

This has been cluttering up my harddrive for some time, and I want to get it out there before it drives me nuts. It's the first part of the 1602/A:TS crossover I owe [livejournal.com profile] selenak. It's unbetaed as yet, so comments and corrections are welcome. The whole story is likely to come to about 15 parts, I think, and is set in a mish-mash of the 1602 and A:TS worlds - it is not our history (and American History scholars should pick this up from this part onwards), but is hopefully sufficiently close to what passes for it in the Angelverse.

[livejournal.com profile] selenak, I have begun work on the 1602/Angelverse crossover I have been promising you since time immemorial. Well, I have completed part 1, at any rate, and finished reconciling the 1602 world to the Angelverse world and to our world. It has been a merry mess, let me tell you! But, finally, part 1 is done (short of the beta, of course), and, at a shade under 4K words, I am loathe to think what the whole thing will resemble. At 15 parts, it is novel-sized, easily, and even if I were to be short and write a mere 10 parts, that is still 70 pages, and a sizeable novella.

Damnation. *sigh*

[livejournal.com profile] spuffyduds, love, drop me a line when you are free and I shall mail part 1 off to you. No hurry on getting it done, I've got ten million more words to write, it appears!

oh, and -

Anyone fancy betaing an Angel/1602 crossover? Some knowledge of both would be, erm, helpful. Also, the willingness to hit me over the head when I get too carried away with the scenery. I thought it'd come in at 13 parts, but it's looking to be a trifle longer than that. Erm, like maybe three times that. *squirm*

yes i do )

This is in lieu of saying that I'm writing a Centauri fic - a Vir fic, in fact - focused on the Centauri telepaths and their fate post TFoCP. cut for some potential spoilers )

Also, tomorrow I go to buy some clothes. And shoes. And possibly underwear. Which is always good. Yes.

P.S. [livejournal.com profile] monanotlisa! Email me your address to make sure I have the correct spelling etc of it so I can mail you some West Wing, girl!

Today, [livejournal.com profile] athena25 and I purchased Nightwatch, which we last watched at the cinema. I didn't really remember it then, because that was the night that I stopped breathing and passed out at Stockwell station, resulting in paramedics fluttering over me. So, yeah, I mainly remembered the pretty, but less of the actual film. It's a pity 'cause the film rocks. But you knew that already.

You also know that I have to write following:

Still untitled, but I do like the premise of it, and it lets me have a whole new setting - i.e. Moscow - as my playground, so I'll probably carry on with it.

Right. To bed...

I want a fic challenge. Or, I want to participate in one. Or, um, I don't know. I kind of want a project that doesn't involve working on my dissertation, or what I'm currently doing at work.

I like the idea of a fandom meme, or something, but I lack the creativity to make one up, or the patince to find one. So - I have this madcap idea of doing a spin on ABC icons, or whatever it's called, only with fanfic or drabbles (probably drabbles): a drabble for a fandom beginning with each letter of the alphabet. So, not really a challenge, but for fun - and should prompt me to look some stuff up, and be involved. (Otherwise, it's back to [livejournal.com profile] ithurtsmybrain I go.) I'm going to ignore 'The' and 'A' at the beginning of titles, otherwise it'll never get done...

The alphabet, in fandoms I'm familiar with )

My, that's a lot of Warren Ellis on there. Actually, that's a lot of comics, full stop. Most tv shows I watch/watched/am familiar with appear to start with the letters B, S, F, X and A. Hmmmm.

Anyone want to offer any prompts for the drabbles?

I will not write William Adama / Laura Roslin, I will not write William Adama / Laura Roslin, I will not -

Too late.

*headdesk*

Wrote half of first draft over my lunchbreak, post progress exam. (stupid audits.)

I will polish it up over the weekend.

I am also majorly jazzed over [livejournal.com profile] yuletide, for the squee, obviously.
