My computer is slowly dying on me, so my posting access has become even more sporadic than usual. SO. While I have access, let me squee over [livejournal.com profile] yuletide!

First, my gift:

Moments of Red by anonymous
Summary: (Mars Trilogy - Robinson) Frank finds out about Maia and John and thinks about his part in the situation. Mostly pre-series.

I got John/Frank fic, you guys!! You have no idea how happy this makes me. John/Frank is my sekkrit Mars love! And it's heart-breaking and so sad, it makes me want to clasp Frank to my bosom. Go, read it, leave the writer lots of love!!

Thank you, secret author, for my awesome present!!

*

I would give you further recs, except I can't access the site for long enough to read through the fic properly. :( :( And I am loathe to do recs when I have read only about three stories! So I may have to wait until January, when I have a shiny new computer, to do a proper read of the archive.

*

However. In between my computer slowly sputtering its last, I managed to write three fics (actually, this could be what killed it...)

As is traditional - guess what I wrote and get a prize! RL has been kicking my arse lately, so they may take a while, but they will get there eventually. Comments are screened, of course.

So, clues: one is very long, one is short-ish, and one is >1,000. Two are in the main archive, and one is in Madness. I have not written in any of the fandoms before, and they are not huge or popular fandoms but tiny little out of the way things.

Guess away!

Thank you!

Thank you for all the birthday wishes, I had a lovely day yesterday, although I do not feel twenty-seven. I'm told that this awareness will come in time, usually at about the 33rd birthday point. Ho hum.

Had a truly excellent day, actually - took the day off from work and had a massage, was taken out for a delicious lunch by [livejournal.com profile] selenak, here on a splendiferous book tour, and got signed up for a not-for-profit agency that has promised to find me a job in development that pays actual cash-money. Like a real job and everything!

Also had a lovely dinner with [livejournal.com profile] athena25, [livejournal.com profile] queenspanky, [livejournal.com profile] rifle, flatmate Z and [livejournal.com profile] wingsmith, who crossed a country to come share mussels with me. I love my friends. *gathers them to my bosom*

Today, I am having my hair coloured. This will take 3 hours and cost a fortune, as I am attempting to go back to my original hair colour, which is more or less that of Evangeline Lilly in last month's In Style (go, look, admire). No prizes for guessing that this will be difficult to achieve after having dyed my hair black for the winter. BUT. I have faith in my hairstylist, Yu, who I have to book in person as every attempt to book him over the phone turns into an Abbott & Costello sketch.

Seeing my parents tomorrow - shopping glee and also Mamma Mia with my mum in the evening, as it is her birthday on Monday and we'll go see ABBA-themed movies and/or stage shows if we want to, the agonised pleading of the boys notwithstanding - and a four-day week next week, due to a training day on the Friday that will hopefully be spent at the pub. W00t!

Thank you

1. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] monanotlisa for your beautiful home-made Christmas Card! It now has pride of place on our mantlepiece. *smooch*

2. I am mid-way through my [livejournal.com profile] yuletide pinchhit. Could some kind person spare a few minutes and beta it? It'll have to be a speedy job, as it is due at stupid o'clock tonight, but I'd feel a lot better if someone has had a go at it. It would be helpful if you are familiar with Brit comic book writers, but could be done without that. Pretty please? *bats lashes*

Big, big *HUGS* to [livejournal.com profile] selenak, who is facilitating my introduction to Old Who with her wonderful gift, "Remembrance of the Daleks". I am reliably informed that I will love Ace. :) Thank you so much, sweetie, you are the best! *smooches*

ETA: And now 'The Curse of Fenric', too! You spoil me sooo much! *smooches*

SQUEE!!!
